Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Overland Park, Kansas. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations within the retail industry, focusing on accurate reporting and effective processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting principles and a commitment to maintaining organizational standards. Responsibilities: • Oversee month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring precision and compliance. • Prepare and post journal entries to support financial activities. • Conduct detailed account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues. • Manage bank reconciliations to ensure alignment with financial records. • Review payroll submissions for accuracy before finalizing with external providers. • Generate monthly financial reports and profit and loss statements to support decision-making. • Collaborate with accounts payable and accounts receivable teams to streamline operations. • Ensure proper recognition of revenue in accordance with established guidelines. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred. • Proven experience with month-end close, general ledger, and journal entries. • Strong understanding of account and bank reconciliations. • Familiarity with financial reporting and creating profit and loss statements. • Proficiency with NetSuite; experience with Business Central is a plus. • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to a positive workplace culture. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
