Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Farmington, Connecticut. This is a long-term contract position in the healthcare industry, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to financial operations and ensure the accuracy of accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures. Responsibilities: • Oversee and execute month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of accounting records. • Perform detailed reconciliations of accounts, including bank accounts and general ledger balances. • Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. • Utilize Sage Intacct software to streamline accounting processes and enhance operational efficiency. • Collaborate with internal teams to address discrepancies and improve financial reporting. • Analyze financial data to identify areas for improvement and drive actionable insights. • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies in all accounting practices. • Provide support for audits by preparing documentation and addressing inquiries. • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in accounting operations. Requirements • Proven experience in month-end close processes and general accounting operations. • Proficiency in managing general ledger activities and reconciliations. • Strong knowledge of preparing and posting journal entries. • Familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software. • Ability to analyze financial data and produce accurate reports. • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams and stakeholders. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
