Sr. Accountant
Description Job Title: Senior Accountant A company in Santa Clarita is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role offers the opportunity to be a key contributor in managing critical financial processes, with a focus on AR (Accounts Receivable), cash management, and order-to-cash functions. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid accounting background, and hands-on experience with financial software platforms, including SAP. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Receivable and Cash Management: Supervise AR clerks to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions. Perform AR collections with a focus on maintaining strong cash flow. Make informed credit term decisions and manage cash application processes. Analyze and resolve discrepancies in AR and cash accounts. Oversee order-to-cash processes in a manufacturing environment. Journal Entries and Reconciliations: Prepare and book journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Perform timely and accurate balance sheet account reconciliations. Reconcile bank activity, including cash applications and check clearing transactions. Cash Disbursement and Payroll: Manage the cash disbursement cycle, including cutting checks and handling ACH payments. Oversee payroll processes, including pulling payroll reports and recording journal entries. Perform payroll accruals and ensure proper accounting of payroll-related transactions. Requirements EXPERIENCE: • At least 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on accounts receivable, cash management, and payroll. • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing financial teams is preferred. • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and reconciling account and bank activities. • Advanced knowledge of Excel and familiarity with SAP or similar financial systems. • Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve complex financial issues effectively. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger management. • Experience reconciling payroll transactions and accounts.
