Description
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is based in Stockton, California, and offers the opportunity to work in the dynamic transportation industry. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting and financial operations, with expertise in reconciliations, general ledger management, and month-end close processes.
Responsibilities:
• Perform detailed account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Reconcile balance sheets and bank accounts to maintain financial integrity.
• Manage and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
• Prepare and post journal entries to support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Sage, or SAP to streamline financial processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address discrepancies and ensure proper documentation.
• Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and reports are accurate.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other reporting requirements.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the transportation/distribution industry.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entry preparation.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Sage, or SAP.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
