Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Bloomington, Minnesota. In this role, you will play a key part in overseeing critical accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulations, and improving processes. This position provides an excellent opportunity to collaborate across departments and make a meaningful impact within a dynamic organization. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations related to fixed assets, leases, and shared services functions. • Oversee month-end close activities across various sites and general ledgers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Manage all aspects of fixed asset and lease accounting, including tracking construction-in-progress, recording depreciation, and handling disposals. • Conduct technical accounting research and assist in drafting policies and documentation for complex accounting topics. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and standardization across business units. • Develop, monitor, and optimize internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. • Act as a subject matter expert and collaborate with cross-functional teams on initiatives impacting accounting operations. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience; public accounting or experience in the manufacturing or construction industries is preferred. • CPA certification or progress toward certification is highly desirable. • Solid understanding of technical accounting principles and standards. • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively. • Proficiency in ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Epicor is advantageous. • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
