Description A client of ours is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities across a portfolio of properties, supporting monthly close, and preparing accurate financial statements. The ideal candidate has strong real estate or property management accounting experience and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: + Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned residential and/or commercial properties + Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries and accruals + Prepare and analyze property-level financial statements and variance reports + Maintain general ledger integrity and perform account reconciliations + Review tenant ledgers, rent rolls, and ensure proper application of payments and charges + Support annual budget preparation and assist with forecasting and variance analysis + Reconcile bank accounts, security deposit accounts, and intercompany transactions + Perform CAM reconciliations, utility billbacks, and other tenant-related recoveries (as applicable) + Assist with year-end audits and provide supporting documentation to external auditors + Collaborate with property managers, leasing teams, and senior leadership to resolve accounting-related inquiries + Contribute to process improvements and help implement best practices in accounting workflows Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance + 2-3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management + Strong understanding of GAAP and property-level accounting + Proficiency in accounting software such as Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, or similar platforms + Strong Excel skills and attention to detail + Excellent time management and organizational skills + Effective communicator with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
