Description We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in New York, New York. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in managing financial operations while ensuring accuracy and compliance in accounting practices. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in month-end close processes, budget development, and audit preparation. Responsibilities: • Oversee the full month-end close process, including revenue accruals and journal entries. • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, handling transactions from cash to accruals. • Develop and manage budgets, including long-term financial planning. • Collaborate with external auditors by providing necessary supporting documents and ensuring audit readiness. • Utilize advanced Excel functions such as V-lookups and pivot tables to analyze financial data. • Work within robust accounting systems such as Oracle, NetSuite, or SAP to manage financial operations. • Apply cost and fund accounting expertise to manage multiple funds effectively. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and maintain accurate general ledger records. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a focus on month-end close and reconciliations. • Proficiency in balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management. • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including V-lookups and pivot tables. • Familiarity with advanced accounting systems such as Oracle, NetSuite, or SAP. • Experience in cost and fund accounting, particularly managing multiple funds. • Demonstrated ability to work with external auditors and prepare audit documentation. • Knowledge of budget planning and long-term financial forecasting. • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
