Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our corporate accounting team in Burr Ridge, Illinois. In this role, you will oversee essential accounting functions such as payroll management, accounts receivable and payable, and month-end close processes. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance & Accounting, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance while contributing to annual initiatives like audits, budgeting, and state filings. Responsibilities: • Process payroll accurately and on schedule, including handling salaries, benefits, deductions, and tax compliance. • Manage benefit account reconciliations and address employee payroll inquiries promptly. • Oversee accounts receivable functions, including client billing, collections, and revenue tracking. • Handle accounts payable tasks such as invoice processing, weekly payments, and preparation of 1099 forms. • Perform monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts including bank, credit card, prepaid, and accrued expenses. • Prepare and record journal entries for payroll, benefits, and month-end close processes. • Generate monthly financial statements and support annual audits and state filings. • Collaborate with IT to manage and maintain accurate fixed asset records. • Assist in developing annual budgets and provide ad-hoc financial analyses as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including payroll management. • Expertise in payroll systems, with Paylocity experience strongly preferred. • Familiarity with Workamajig software is a plus. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. • Knowledge of service industry accounting practices, including ASC 606. • Proven ability to improve processes through automation. • Experience in accounting for multi-state corporate environments. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
