Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will oversee complex accounting tasks and ensure accurate financial reporting for multiple entities. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in cost accounting and financial analysis who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Maintain general and cost accounting records in compliance with established accounting standards and principles. • Manage monthly financial close processes and prepare comprehensive financial reports for multiple entities. • Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, balance sheets, and intercompany accounts on a monthly basis. • Prepare and file accurate sales tax returns on a monthly schedule. • Handle daily bank deposits and ensure proper documentation. • Create and post complex journal entries, including labor burden cost allocations for jobs and service orders. • Provide support to the Controller by contributing data for expense budget development. • Coordinate with external accounting firms to facilitate year-end audits. • Supervise and provide guidance to accounts payable and accounts receivable team members. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting. • Minimum of three years of accounting experience in the service or construction industries, preferably with exposure to multi-entity organizations. • Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP. • Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. • Solid understanding of financial statements and accounting principles. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to train and supervise staff.
