Description We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a Contract-to-Permanent basis in Sacramento, California. This role involves managing complex accounting processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and contributing to the organization's financial health. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership abilities, and strong analytical skills to support both day-to-day operations and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee month-end and year-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with organizational policies and relevant accounting standards.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and tax laws.
• Manage and analyze fixed asset schedules, depreciation, and related accounting entries.
• Supervise accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury functions.
• Evaluate and implement internal controls to enhance accuracy and reduce financial risks.
• Collaborate with management to provide financial data and insights for strategic planning and decision-making.
• Identify inefficiencies in accounting workflows and recommend process improvements.
• Maintain and optimize financial systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP to ensure accurate reporting.
• Act as a resource for cross-departmental initiatives, providing financial expertise to support organizational goals. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPA) are strongly preferred.
• At least 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting, including financial reporting and general ledger management.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• In-depth knowledge of compliance-based accounting practices and audit processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting financial data to non-financial stakeholders effectively.
• Familiarity with bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
