Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. In this long-term Remote contract role, and you will play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and managing complex accounting processes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment within the real estate industry, specializing in property management and financial reporting. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review business transactions to ensure accurate posting in the general ledger and financial statements. • Manage accrual and cash basis accounting processes for clients with intricate financial reporting needs. • Reconcile accounts, including bank statements and balance sheets, to maintain financial accuracy. • Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entry adjustments and variance analysis. • Provide mentorship and guidance to accounting staff, fostering growth and adherence to ethical standards. • Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline financial workflows and enhance reporting efficiency. • Utilize software tools such as Yardi and MRI to manage accounting tasks and generate detailed reports. • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies in all financial operations. • Support audit preparations by maintaining organized records and documentation.P Requirements • Proven expertise in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations. • Strong proficiency in general ledger management and journal entry processing. • Experience with month-end close procedures and financial statement preparation. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as Yardi and MRI. • Thorough understanding of cash and accrual accounting principles. • Ability to meet strict deadlines while maintaining high accuracy. • Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively guide and mentor team members. • Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data and resolve discrepancies.
