Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This is a long-term contract position within the manufacturing industry, offering the opportunity to contribute to critical financial processes and improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting principles, fixed asset management, and financial reconciliation while collaborating with various departments to ensure accuracy and compliance. Responsibilities: • Manage fixed asset responsibilities, including monitoring balances, placing assets into service, creating new assets, and booking depreciation as part of the month-end close. • Assist with booking lease accounting entries for multiple locations, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial standards. • Standardize and streamline the intercompany recharge process for easier reconciliation, reviewing charges to validate accuracy and addressing discrepancies across AR, AP, and Payroll. • Collaborate with the General Ledger team on ad hoc tasks such as improving common processes and tracking integration or rebranding costs. • Perform account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy. • Support bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions align with company records. • Prepare and post journal entries in compliance with accounting standards. • Utilize Microsoft Excel for detailed financial analysis and reporting. • Contribute to the month-end close process to finalize accurate financial statements Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are desired - Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience - Experience with ERP systems - Highly organized and self-motivated - Demonstrated skills in interacting effectively, both verbally and in writing, with functional managers - Demonstrated knowledge of closing - Experience with financial reporting - Strong familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR) - Knowledge of cash applications - Adeptness in Payments Reconciliation - Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation - Foundational knowledge in asset management - Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports - Financial reporting systems proficiency - Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines - Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity - Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills - SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus **All candidates must undergo drug and background screening for consideration Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
