Sr. Accountant
Description Our client, in the real estate space, is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join team in the Horsham area, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will oversee critical accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial reporting, cash management, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting principles and a strong ability to manage deadlines within the real estate property and facilities management industry. Responsibilities: • Manage the monthly and quarterly accounting close processes, including handling cash, debt, derivatives, equity distributions, prepaids, accrued expenses, and intercompany transactions. • Collaborate with the Corporate Controller and Treasurer to drive cash management and forecasting efforts, ensuring proper funding for debt service waterfall payments. • Prepare lender reporting packages and ensure compliance with debt covenants on a monthly and quarterly basis. • Develop business partner reporting packages with detailed analysis and insights. • Support external tax accountants by creating schedules and reviewing taxable income projections and tax returns. • Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to uphold the integrity of financial data and processes. • Assist the Corporate Accounting Manager and financial reporting team with various accounting functions and ad hoc projects. • Provide documentation and supporting materials for special requests and analyses. • Utilize advanced Excel skills to streamline accounting workpapers and enhance efficiency. • Demonstrate expertise in general ledger and operational systems to ensure seamless accounting operations. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. • Minimum of four years of accounting experience, preferably with a mix of public accounting and industry exposure. • Strong leadership and self-management abilities. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to implement efficiencies. • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills. • Experience with real estate accounting software, such as Yardi, is a plus. • Proven ability to meet strict deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
