Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Redmond, Washington. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in financial operations within the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all functions. Responsibilities: • Prepare, review, and submit journal entries to support monthly and quarterly financial close processes, including accurate handling of accruals and deferrals. • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to update forecasts and budgets based on actual performance and strategic adjustments. • Oversee invoice processing by validating delivery and setup dates, ensuring supplier compliance, and maintaining accurate general ledger coding. • Generate and analyze profit and loss reports on a weekly and monthly basis, identifying discrepancies and ensuring the completeness of financial charges. • Serve as a key liaison between accounting, operations, and vendor teams to ensure seamless financial operations and effective communication. • Maintain accurate financial documentation and system records to uphold compliance and audit readiness. • Reconcile accounts receivable issues, such as duplicate payments or misapplied credits, and prepare detailed reports for period-end close processes. • Support accounts payable functions, including system testing and upgrades to enhance efficiency and accuracy. • Create ad-hoc reports using tools like Power BI, Excel templates, and other financial systems to provide actionable insights. • Participate in system upgrades and testing to ensure smooth transitions and effective utilization of financial tools. Requirements • In-depth knowledge of accrual accounting and financial close processes. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems such as SAP, Concur, and other relevant tools. • Strong skills in account reconciliation, general ledger management, and journal entry preparation. • Experience with financial reporting and analysis, including creating detailed reports and identifying discrepancies. • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs. • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and coordination. • Familiarity with tools like Power BI for reporting and metrics. • Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with internal policies and external audit requirements.
