Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our manufacturing team in Council Bluffs, Iowa. In this role, you will oversee key financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in reporting while providing valuable insights to support business decisions. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting and a commitment to driving organizational success.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze monthly financial results, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and key performance indicators, to deliver actionable insights.
• Manage and execute month-end and quarter-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with U.S. accounting standards and accuracy in reporting.
• Maintain and update account structures, fixed asset records, and financial procedures to support audits and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with various departments on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and resolving accounts receivable and accounts payable issues.
• Participate in annual audits and government licensing renewals, while driving continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team.
• Ensure the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports across daily, weekly, monthly, and annual timelines.
• Cross-train within the finance team to enhance versatility and ensure strong departmental support.
• Provide support for special projects and strategic initiatives as required, contributing to long-term organizational goals. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with SAP or similar systems is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments, including engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Exceptional communication skills coupled with strong time management and organizational abilities.
• Proven ability to take ownership of projects and deliver results in a timely manner.
• Experience in account reconciliation, general ledger management, and journal entries.
• Familiarity with month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
