Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will excel in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy in reconciliations, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the organization's financial stability by overseeing critical accounting functions. Responsibilities: • Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data. • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions. • Manage bank reconciliations, ensuring timely and precise reporting of cash flow activities. • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded. • Prepare and post journal entries to support month-end and year-end close processes. • Conduct month-end closing procedures, verifying financial statements and resolving discrepancies. • Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data and create comprehensive reports. • Provide expertise in Sage 50 accounting software to streamline financial operations and reporting. • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on financial practices and policies. • Assist in audits and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory standards. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on reconciliations and financial reporting. • Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations. • Strong knowledge of general ledger processes and journal entries. • Skilled in month-end close procedures and financial statement preparation. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and interpret complex spreadsheets. • Familiarity with Sage 50 accounting software and its functionalities. • Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills. • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate financial information clearly.
