Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Newport Beach, California. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the preparation of financial statements. Your expertise in technical accounting and process improvement will contribute to the success of our quarterly and year-end close processes. Responsibilities: • Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts as part of the quarterly and year-end close processes. • Analyze and determine appropriate accounting treatments for asset purchases, sales, modifications, and depreciation. • Collaborate on the classification and accounting of new lease agreements. • Support the preparation of financial statements and perform variance analyses during the quarterly financial close. • Provide documentation and explanations for internal and external audits, ensuring thorough compliance. • Manage general accounting activities, including journal entries for accounts such as lease revenue and aircraft-related transactions. • Contribute to the creation of accurate financial reports, including investor presentations and supporting documentation for footnotes. • Conduct detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly. • Assist with financial projections to support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with the FP& A team. • Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting operations and implement efficiencies in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting. • Strong proficiency in account reconciliations and balance sheet management. • Advanced knowledge of general ledger systems and journal entry preparation. • Expertise in financial systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft Excel. • Familiarity with month-end close processes and external audit procedures. • Solid understanding of compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform variance analysis and financial projections. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
