Description Are you a strong senior accounting professional with a knack for problem-solving and an eye for detail? Robert Half is partnering with a dynamic organization in Reno, NV, to fill a Senior Accountant (Contract Assignment) role. This opportunity is ideal for a proactive professional with strong reconciliation skills and the ability to tackle backlog challenges efficiently. This 3–5-month contract position offers the chance to bring your expertise to a fast-paced environment, where your contributions will play a key role in streamlining operations and ensuring financial accuracy, working alongside the Director of Accounting. Key Responsibilities: + Reconciliation Expertise: Lead efforts to address a significant volume of backlogged account reconciliations, including bank accounts, balance sheets, and intercompany accounts. + Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and related schedules. + Journal Entries: Develop and post complex journal entries as part of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. + Process Improvements: Identify inefficiencies in reconciliation and reporting processes, and recommend or implement improvements to drive efficiency. + Audit Support: Assist with audit preparations, compliance documentation, and resolving discrepancies to ensure readiness. + Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and other departments to resolve variances and improve workflows. + Data Validation: Analyze large datasets and resolve data integrity issues across financial systems. Requirements • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on reconciliations and journal entries and resolving backlogged accounts. • Proficiency in accounting systems (Yardi ideal) but will accept other ERPs • Strong knowledge of general ledger operations and financial reporting processes. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with complex formulas and data analysis. • Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close activities and ensure accurate financial documentation. • Experience in preparing balance sheet and account reconciliations. • Bachelor's degree i accounting, finance or a related field or recent, hands-on experience.
