Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for a skilled Sr. Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial records and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a leading organization in the machinery manufacturing industry while leveraging your expertise in accounting and finance. Responsibilities: • Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial reports, statements, and records to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Oversee general ledger functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses. • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. • Compile consolidated internal financial statements and prepare financial filings, including quarterly and annual reports. • Maintain reconciliations for company-owned accounts and conduct ledger reviews to ensure accuracy. • Create detailed financial schedules and support internal, interim, and annual audit processes. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with corporate finance principles and organizational standards. • Utilize advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, such as SAP, to streamline processes and reporting. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting and finance department. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. • At least 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or a related role. • Strong understanding of corporate finance principles and accounting practices. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with SAP is preferred. • Skilled in performing account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance. • Familiarity with month-end and year-end closing processes, as well as financial reporting. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively. • Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
