Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Napa County. The role involves complex accounting tasks, including the preparation and analysis of financial information in accordance with Statutory Accounting Principles. Responsibilities: • Prepare and analyze financial statements and related supplemental filings according to Statutory Accounting Principles • Compile financial information and transactions to prepare entries for the general ledger • Assist with internal and external audits to ensure company compliance • Complete account and balance sheet reconciliations as well as variance analysis • Utilize Microsoft Excel for various financial functions • Conduct month end close activities and journal entries • Communicate with employees, customers, and vendors as necessary • Monitor and manage statutory requirements and reporting. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the accounting field, preferably within the insurance industry. • Proficiency in account reconciliation processes and methods. • Experience with balance sheet reconciliation is required. • Familiarity with bank reconciliations is necessary. • Demonstrated expertise in maintaining and managing general ledgers. • Proficiency in recording and maintaining journal entries. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are necessary. • Experience in month-end close procedures is required. • Knowledge of statutory accounting and its principles is essential. • Proven experience in statutory financial reporting. • Familiarity with statutory reporting processes is necessary. • Understanding of statutory requirements within the insurance industry is essential.
