ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages a book of insurance business, while acting with a high degree of independent discretion, autonomy, and decision-makingProvides professional, courteous service to our clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues, resulting in a rate of account retention that meets or exceeds expectationsProvides a high level of support to Producers in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding businessMay also be responsible for account rounding and the development of new business as appropriate and in accordance with standard practices, policies, and proceduresOversees (and performs when needed) the preparation and implementation of transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts. Includes acting as Back-up for Account Technician support staffProvides coverage analysis and risk management recommendations, completing applications, preparing submissions, negotiating coverage and pricing with carriers and preparing proposals according to agency standards.  You may also be called on to resolve issues related to billing, make policy changes, respond to policy coverage related questions in a timely and professional manner, and prepare exposure comparison, premium comparisons, renewal reviews and renewal proposals. As a Senior Account Manager, you will also be expected to provide leadership and mentoring as needed, to colleagues within your team. All Senior Account Managers are expected to participate in continuing education to maintain a P&C license, stay current with all regulations and enhance insurance knowledge.Experience in managing assigned accounts through the client life cycle, including the renewal process. Solid coverage, underwriting and risk management knowledgeDemonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor othersEffective oral and written communication and relationship building skills are essentialStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to prepare and facilitate presentations as well as speak to colleagues and clients at all levels.High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as agency management systems and web browser softwareExceptional time management and organization skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities efficientlyThese additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:Coordinates the implementation of the client’s strategic plan. This includes:Performing key “value-added” services including, but not limited to, Pre-Renewal Strategic Planning, Risk ID Assessments, Contract Reviews, Claims Reviews (in coordination with Claims Management), Market Analysis, Stewardship Reports, Deductible Analysis, etc.Coordinating the value-added services being provided by our Risk Services and Claims Management DivisionsAcquires understanding of clients’ insurance objectives and critically analyzes and compares insurance plans to determine suitability.  Stays abreast of changes in the insurance industry and other external conditions that may impact their clients.  Makes appropriate recommendations to clients in response to those changes independent of manager approvalActs as liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve escalated complex service issues that require policy interpretation and experience-based judgment to resolve.  May also negotiate with underwriters and carriers.  Troubleshoots claims and billing issuesResponsible for overall retention of accounts in assigned book of businessDevelops new business from existing accounts and assigned leads and contributes to meeting departmental production goals. Identifies and follows-up on cross-selling opportunities when appropriateIn conjunction with the producer, manages, organizes, and conducts client meetings when necessaryAppropriately documents conversations with clients and carrier representatives and updates all HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems when necessary.  Ensures the accuracy of data in those systemsTravels on company business as required. Prepares reports for management as required.Supports, mentors, and trains Account Technician support staffAttends industry related continuing education training and courses

Requisite insurance license (can be earned on-job)High attention to detail is requiredSkills testing may be requiredA high school diploma required; some college preferredExperience working with community Bank Bond / D&O / Property and Casualty Insurance programs5+ Years relevant insurance industry experience with 3 of those years focused on Property and Casualty, preferably within a brokerage agency.Above-average telephone techniques and the ability to communicate effectively with prospective and existing clients, as well as other staff membersProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Experience with EPIC Agency Management System a plusAbility and willingness to utilize company’s computer system and softwareStrong typing skills with an ability to compose clear and concise lettersAbility to understand policy forms and coverage descriptionsOrganizational skills requiredWillingness to attend educational classes is desiredRemote availability
