Sr Technical Program Manager, EC2

This is a challenging and highly visible position responsible for developing business programs that incorporate various stakeholders, collaborating with engineering leadership to develop products to improve customer experience and drive efficiency in the world’s largest distributed computing environment.

Technical Program Managers in EC2 are force multipliers who represent service teams to senior leadership and enable their teams to deliver business value through engineering excellence. As a TPM in the EC2 Commercial Software Services team, you will be responsible for identifying the stakeholders, working with leadership to develop a vision, roadmaps and execution strategies for business programs that are supported by service teams that serve some of our most strategic customers. TPMs handle complex inter-team dependencies and bridge the gaps in technical management. You will need to work with professionals in many different domains including finance, engineering, engineering management, dev support. Successful candidates will have a strong technical background, be detail-oriented, have excellent problem solving and communication abilities, and poses a deep understanding of product design and implementation details. Candidate’s technical expertise and operational excellence will raise the bar and influence the team’s decisions and drive secure and robust solutions which have great customer experience.

Key job responsibilities
1. Establish cross-functional teams, create trust with a variety of stakeholders by establishing required process for effective communication, eliminate non-value-add activity, contribute to designing solutions with focus on reducing operational cost, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery.
2. TPM will be fully competent in a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project life cycle and have experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, resources, quality, risk management, metric focussed reporting and tracking.
3. To utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to drive consensus, make decisions , provide updates to senior leadership, innovate on behalf of customers.
