Are you ready to go beyond? **What You Will Do** P&W Puerto Rico’s Core Disciplines Engineering organization is looking for a self-motivated individual to lead the Engine Core Design and Product Definition organization. This team is focused on the execution of Digital Mock-up tasks, producing and maintaining a high-quality CAD representation of our engines for integration with both our suppliers and customers. + Manages team of primarily entry level to team leader technical employees with flexibility to determine how assignments are completed. Provides primary input to hiring, firing, promotion, performance, and rewards decisions for direct reports. + Leads, directs, and reviews the work of team members to accomplish operational plans and results. Responsible for making modifications in systems and processes to solve problems and / or improve effectiveness of the work area. + Problems and issues faced are general and may require understanding of a broader set of issues but are not usually complex. Problems typically involve consideration of a single site, geography, product, or customer. Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experiences, with some logical analysis of the issue. + Plans and establishes goals and objectives for a team, with direct impact on the immediate or short-term operational results of the work area. Typically, does not have budget or P&L accountability, but may manage day-to-day elements of the budget (e.g., overtime for staff). + Communicates with parties within and outside of own department, which may include external customers or vendors. + Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
