Sr Supplier Quality Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Supplier Quality and Manufacturing, with a proven track record of using quality-related tools and methodologies to ensure production readiness and compliance to standards. This role involves evaluating suppliers, improving processes, and resolving quality issues to maintain high product quality performance 
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Execute production readiness assessments and verify compliance using tools such as QMS, SPC, APQP, PPAP, 8D, and CAPA. Conduct Quality System/Manufacturing Process Audits to evaluate suppliers, ensuring adherence to ISO 9001/TS 16949 standards. Utilize quality improvement tools, including Lean and Six Sigma, to enhance supplier processes and product quality. Perform statistical analysis using software like Minitab to identify root causes and solve problems. Review technical documentation related to safety-critical components and communicate findings effectively both verbally and in written form. Develop and lead cross-functional teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues within a diverse global supply base. Investigate and resolve quality issues, collaborating with internal and external employees at all levels, and report findings to top executives. Train and mentor suppliers on quality principles, corporate procedures, and continuous improvement practices   

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related. 5+ years of professional experience in Supplier Quality/Manufacturing or a related field. Proficiency in using quality-related tools for production readiness and compliance verification. Strong knowledge of ISO 9001/TS 16949 standards and experience in conducting audits. Expertise in quality improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma. Skilled in statistical analysis and problem-solving using software like Minitab. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and resolve supplier-related quality issues. Ability to investigate and resolve quality issues, and report findings to top executives. Experience in training suppliers on quality principles and procedures. Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
