Reporting to the Center of Excellence (COE) Packaging Director of Strategic Sourcing, this position is responsible for creating value by communicating the latest trends in terms of design, new technologies and material optimization. This role has very high visibility within the organization to guide the various business as this data will provide critical information to help guide strategic, engineering and design decision making. The candidate will utilize various market intelligence sources, engineer & design packaging advisors. In addition, this person will also support the Center of Excellence (COE) with some key KPI ownership and support to drive but not limited to activities like HGR (Hight growth region) moves, 1:1:1 supplier rationalizations and other areas to support.

Responsibilities:

Identify cost saving opportunities via redesign, alternate material, alternate supplier, new technologies, supplier rationalization, SKU’s consolidation, drive negotiations and/or enhanced packaging processes in the sitesExperience in contract negotiations, experience in category strategy construction and implementationBeing a voice that can influence critical stakeholders, assist with identifying key core packaging suppliers/partnersPackaging liaison for sustainability – drive sustainability initiativesDrive VE & CE projects to execution – establish parameters to reduce barriersComplete understanding of market trends in terms of material indices, packaging equipment enhancements, sustainability requirements, packaging regulations (if applicable). Attend Packaging Expos to stay abreast of industry

Qualifications:

 Bachelor’s degree At least 3 years of work experience in strategic sourcing or supply chain function Experience working in a matrixed organization Bring a growth mindset and creative attitude to change the status Quo
