Sr Staff Digital Mixed-Signal Verification Engineer

Job Description

Job Purpose:
• Perform pre-silicon verification of power management integrated circuits (PMICs) and mixed-signal ICs using industry-standard AMS verification methodologies
• Drive development and execution of verification plans utilizing both SystemVerilog and analog/mixed-signal (AMS) modeling environments
• Collaborate with analog and digital design teams to verify block-level and full-chip functionality across diverse modes and corner cases
• Ensure high-quality and robust verification coverage of complex interactions between analog and digital domains

Principal Accountabilities:
• Develop and implement full-chip mixed-signal verification plans incorporating behavioral models, AMS co-simulation, and testbench infrastructure
• Develop SystemVerilog-based testbenches for verifying digital control logic and integration with analog blocks through EE nets and real-number modeling (RNM)
• Collaborate closely with analog designers to define and validate mixed-signal interfaces, performance, and functionality
• Create and maintain models of analog blocks for digital/mixed-signal co-simulation
• Drive coverage-based verification (code and functional) and perform root cause analysis of failures
• Support regression testing, simulation debug, waveform analysis, and signoff closure
• Participate in reviews for verification strategy, planning, and results
• Contribute to top-level simulations including DCDC converters, regulators, chargers, and analog sensor interfaces
• Work with DFT and test teams to align simulation with production test scenarios
• Support post-silicon validation by correlating pre-silicon simulation coverage and testbench reuse

Key Performance Measures:
• Successfully verify full-chip functionality and convergence across multiple use cases and operating conditions
• Demonstrated ownership of testbench architecture, verification metrics, and debug quality
• Maintains effective cross-functional collaboration with design, layout, validation, and test teams
• Delivers timely, high-quality verification results that enable first-pass silicon success
• Continuously enhances verification methodology, automation, and reuse

Additional Information:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated initiative in driving verification strategy and tool/methodology improvements
• Willingness to travel and support cross-site collaboration

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in digital/mixed-signal verification for analog-intensive SoCs or PMICs
• Strong knowledge of AMS verification methodologies using Verilog-AMS, SystemVerilog, and real-number modeling (RNM)
• Solid experience with SystemVerilog testbench development (UVM or similar), simulation tools (e.g., Cadence AMS Designer, Synopsys VCS AMS)
• Familiarity with EE nets and their integration in mixed-signal verification environments
• Background in analog circuit behavior such as LDOs, DCDC converters, comparators, ADCs/DACs is a strong advantage
• Scripting skills (Python, Perl, Tcl, Make) for automation and regression flow setup
• Experience with power-aware simulation, functional coverage, and assertion-based verification
• Exposure to DFT concepts, production test correlation, and lab validation support is a plus
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
