The Senior Software Engineer applies practical knowledge of application development and engineering to design, implement, test, and deploy both new software applications/platforms and changes to existing platforms, including issue fixes, enhancements, and new features for components of varying levels of complexity. The Senior Software Engineer owns development of assigned features, ensuring said deliverables are highly scalable and performant, and is expected to drive delivery of components through their own work and any junior engineers’ work. Concerning new initiatives or enhancements, the Senior Software Engineer will also provide input and guidance on solution design, leveraging their expertise to lay out the foundation for subsequent software development activities. The Senior Software Engineer provides technical guidance to team members and business partners, acting as both a subject matter expert and point of escalation based on the initiative.
This role is a Project Hire for a duration of up to 24 months.
Responsibilities:
Owns the design and development of software fixes, enhancements, and/or new system componentsDrives development of components through own work and junior engineers’ workDevelops technical solutions that meet specifications and impact future delivery effortsExecutes assigned component-level software development projects and/or major fixes to existing applications using combination of new and existing technologiesDevelops specifications for assigned components, projects, or fixesWrites own code for delivery efforts and reviews others’ code for oversightParticipates in setting the architectural direction for software delivery initiativesLead troubleshooting efforts on end-to-end application issues, inclusive of both front-end and back-end solutionsInteracts and coordinates deliverables with other technical groups across the organizationServes as high-level technical advisor and “go-to” resource for less experienced developers, providing tech-focused guidance and oversightLeads team members in problem analysis and issue resolutionQualifications:
5+ years of coding and software development experience, with focus on highly scalable, high-volume applications and/or platformsExperience with Java 14+, stream processing, JavaScript and/or TypeScript, XML, JSON, messaging, AWS cloud infrastructureExperience with Python, Machine Learning and Generative AI. Strong understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, cloud computingStrong expertise in object-oriented development as well as reactive and functional programming, with understanding of design principles, patterns, and coding best practicesExperience with integration and deployment tooling, including Jenkins, Harness, Docker, etc.Familiarity with database platforms, including both relational (MySQL/MariaDB preferred) and NoSQL (DynamoDB and MongoDB preferred)Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Java 17+, Spring Boot, reactive processing and/or streamsRequired Education:
