What are we looking for?A Senior Engineer with experience leading scrum teams, building a great products and an interest in working with and uplifting legacy code. A role model that will pursue technical excellence and establish great engineering practices.
You role will require you to work with our staff engineer to modernise the platform
What will you do?
Day to day, you will:
Write automation tests for various applications across the stack
Be a key part in defining technical strategy and the architectural roadmapWork with BI / ETL tools Trouble shoot applications, improve metrics and monitoring
Build CI/CD pipelines in GHA (mainly in BASH)
Work with SRE to teams to remediate problemsIntegrate our platform with partner systems to process financial transactions
What you will need:
Expertise with the JVM (e.g. Java, Kotlin, Scala, etc.)
A proactive mind-set and the drive to lead and mentor your colleaguesStrong presentation skills and be able to teach others various software concepts such as Refactoring, DDDStrong knowledge with observability frameworks / tools, e.g. OTEL, DynatraceCOBOL experience is preferable, or a willingness to learnExperience with legacy Java Applets (in order to decommission)Solid grasp of BI tools, especially MicrostrategyMainframe ETL tooling - Ab initioHands on knowledge in architecting and orchestrating a complex integration-heavy system
Be keen to learn new technologies and be able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical colleagues
You are conversant with RESTful web service design, Kafka, JMS or other messaging technologies.Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React/Redux, HTML5, CSS3To have worked with Spring(Boot), relational databases, cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelinesAn understanding of reactive frameworks in Java, Vert.x preferableYou have experience with multiple JVM languages, functional programming, asynchronous programming, the concepts of clean codeAn understanding of the importance of good unit, integration, and automated testing for all changesAn understanding of product development concepts, e.g. minimum viable product, design sprints, prototyping, A/B testing, etc.Strong application security, data privacy, monitoring, observability, and traceability are part of your development mindset
