Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualification:

The Ads Tech team is building PayPal’s next generation advertising platform. It's a greenfield project based on advanced AI and large systems engineering to best utilize the wealth of merchant and transaction data available within the firm. The Ads Tech engineer's role will help to design and develop key parts of the platform. We believe in egoless programming - everybody is an equal and we value learning from and helping each other. We enjoy solving hard problems, but we recognize we cannot do so as individuals. Your day-to-day: As a Senior Software Engineer you'll contribute to the technical roadmap and drive innovation. You'll collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions.

What do you need to bring:

10+ years of development experience with an emphasis on functional programming.Proficiency in at least one functional programming language, preferably Scala and its TypeLevel ecosystem5+ years of experience in designing and architecting scalable backend systems with a focus on cloud-native solutions, microservices, and serverless architectures.Expertise in designing and implementing fault-tolerant systems with a focus on high availability and disaster recovery.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

Experience with functional Effects libraries such as Cats-Effect or ZIOExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).Python development experience specially in a machine learning contextExperience with using Agile/Scrum methodology for software developmentExperience with large-scale, high-performance systems.Knowledge of the Ad Tech & payment processing industry and relevant regulations.
