**Position Summary:**
This role, which will focus primarily on supporting our customer in their Perfume R&D Laboratory, works in flavor and fragrance formulation chemistry in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and good manufacturing practices. The Lead Specialist must develop good leadership and training models to ensure sustainable service support operation and inventory. In addition, this technical management role has various levels of responsibility to implement practical process improvement in the processes to achieve higher productivity while ensuring strict adherence to required safety and quality assurance guidelines.
**Key Responsibilities:**
• Demonstrating a high level of customer focus and responsiveness including direct interaction with customer(s) and their operational team(s) in:
+ Ensure that the team aligns with all relevant customer’s safety and quality requirements.
+ Coordinate and review with client and other team members on assigned tasks.
+ Track and supervise the progress and completion of existing tasks.
+ Coordinate and ensure timely calibration of laboratory equipment.
+ Maintain good laboratory housekeeping with the team.
+ Supervise and assess operation and project execution resources and workload. Review any adjustments required periodically with manager and customers.
+ Leading, supervising, mentoring, and developing staff within a diverse team environment which includes training plans in ensuring operational sustainability.
+ Develop and maintain a quality management system to ensure both customer’s work scope deliverables and team performance measures are in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and organization’s safety, quality, and security requirements.
+ Conceive, lead, handle, and participate in cost, quality, and efficiency improvement initiatives.
+ Takes lead in performing Flavors & Fragrances Laboratory Operations which includes the following:
+ Operation and maintenance of the Contexa robot.
General Scope involving:
+ Perfume compounding and material selection as per formulation.
+ Updating compounding information in Electronic Lab Notebook.
+ Ensure clean tools used for weighing.
+ Product Application
+ Preparation for odor evaluations
+ Maintain End-to-End (E2E) service of material management.
+ Support shipping of compounded materials with complete shipping documents.
**Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:**
Diploma in Applied Chemistry/Perfumery and Cosmetic Sciences/Chemical Engineering. Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience with 1 - 2 years in a supervisory role in a chemistry laboratory environment would be preferred.
Has sound knowledge of “good laboratory practices” quality guidelines and regulations (cGMP).
Good interpersonal and coordination skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed.
Independent, self-motivated, and adaptable in a multifaceted environment.
An excellent team builder and player with strong technical knowledge coupled with a hands-on demeanor and excellent problem-solving skills.
Interactive with good written and oral communications.
Mechanical experience with laboratory robots and good computational skills are desirable.
