Sr RF Hardware Engineer

Use your advanced knowledge of the hardware engineering discipline, processes and tools to help Resideo Products & Solutions deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will work under limited supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Resideo's next generation of thermostats, HVAC controls, and IAQ products by designing, testing and/or validating products/processes from prototype to market. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs while acting as a mentor to more junior engineers. You will interact with internal and external customers in order to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications. 

JOB DUTIES:

Identify and evaluate RF hardware solutions (modules and chip-down) involving wireless technologies such as WIFI, BLE, Zigbee, LTE, and sub-ghz protocols like Zwave. Be responsible for RF requirements/specifications and ensuring electrical, mechanical, and industrial designs meet customer and market expectations. RF circuit simulation, schematic, PCB Layout, antenna design, matching, and simulation. Be responsible for testing, performance validation, and troubleshooting of RF solutions. Support intentional radiator certification - FCC/IC/PTCRB CE/RED. Support the manufacture activities for RF test solution and test limits in mass production Continuously explore and propose new wireless technology to help NPI team to delivery more competitive products.

 

YOU MUST HAVE:

5+ years of experience in electrical engineering with direct experience in RF circuits (chip-down and/or modules) Practical RF experience with one or more of the following radio technologies: Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/Zigbee/Sub-Ghz Radio/cellular communication system (2G/3G/4G/5G) Experience with NPI projects

 

WE VALUE:

In-depth knowledge of RF technology principles, including transmission line, impedance matching, RF transmitters and receivers, RF front end, wireless communication, modulation, and demodulation techniques. Experience with RF simulation tools like Ansys or CST Studio Proficient in RF design and debugging skills, capable of independently conducting circuit design, debugging, and optimization.  Practical experience in antenna design and optimization, familiar with antenna matching and antenna performance testing. Proficient in using RF Test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators. Good experience in EMC design and minimizing desense. Experience with FCC/CE/PTCRB agency Experience with wireless co-existence schemes is a plus. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, able to collaborate within a team to optimize product performance. Ability to work under pressure and ensure project completion on schedule.
