An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a **Sr R&D Tech** within UOP's **R&D Catalysis Fundamentals and Applications Research Group** located in Des Plaines, IL. This position provides a unique opportunity to support catalyst synthesis for catalyst development projects, prepare extruded materials, and collaborate with other R&D departments to accelerate catalyst discovery.
The annual base salary range for this position is $63,500 - $79,300. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Prepare catalyst materials through a variety of impregnation techniques
+ Support extrusions of catalyst materials at a laboratory bench scale
+ Prepare and submit samples for various analytical, chemical analyses, and pilot plant testing
+ Maintain laboratory equipment and materials inventory, and coordinate with vendors for service requests
+ Communicate with stakeholders to keep them informed and balance project requests
+ Be an active participant in digitization efforts for catalyst data storage
+ Participate in all departmental safety activities and conduct all work with a high degree of attention to safety

**YOU MUST HAVE**
+ H.S. Diploma or GED
+ 5+ years of hands-on experience in a wet chemistry laboratory
**WE VALUE**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, or another related field
+ Experience with materials synthesis in a R&D laboratory setting
+ Ability to perform basic chemistry calculations
+ Strong analytical skills and attention to details
+ Ability to learn new skills and improve on established processes
+ Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols
+ Effective communication and teamwork skills
+ A sense of urgency and drive to achieve results
