Sr Quality Manager

Danfoss Mexico is looking for a Sr Quality Manager in our plant based in Reynosa, Mx. As Sr Quality Manager you will be responsible for leading the execution and deployment of the defined Strategic Quality Plan, providing Total Quality Leadership to customers, suppliers, partners, and internal manufacturing cells. It involves leading continuous improvement activities and managing the Quality Assurance strategy to ensure product flow consistent with established industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements. The role actively strives to improve manufacturing processes by utilizing variability reduction methodologies such as DOE, Six Sigma, and Lean. It ensures compliance with current Quality Management Systems ISO 9001 and IATF16949 and the Danfoss Quality System. 

What You’ll Be Doing Manage the quality customer interface to ensure requirements are understood and met, including complaint resolution and root cause and corrective action determination. Analyze quality performance, set plant goals for all quality metrics, and perform managerial reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level. Develop and implement the Quality function organizational structure capable of supporting strategic business plans and initiatives. Design and implement quality assurance training programs, conduct training in quality-related topics, and develop personnel plans. Evaluate operational performance to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, dismissals, commendations, etc. Lead the implementation and improvement efforts of the Quality Management Systems. Serve as the designated Management Representative for the plant as defined in the ISO 9001 and IATF16949 Quality system. Lead efforts of internal quality auditors. Ensure Quality functional participation in product development and launch activities, including identification of customer expectations, manufacturing and test support, reliability analysis, design reviews, evaluation of test programs, material testing, leading to customer approvals on new and existing products. Coordinate with and provide input to the Supply Chain/Supplier Development organization to assure quality of purchased products and services meets Danfoss requirements. Actively participate in cross-functional company-wide teams to assist in driving quality improvements, process improvements, business system enhancements, and process standardization. Assist with corporate initiatives at the plant level, participating on teams to drive best practices across Danfoss and support the plant in obtaining and maintaining their Danfoss system. Regularly communicate and demonstrate the Danfoss best practices, ethics, values, and philosophy so that these cultural attributes are incorporated throughout the organization. Foster an environment promoting Danfoss goals and philosophy, encouraging continuous improvement, and building customer relationships. Work with the Ergonomics Team to develop a program to reduce re-work activities affecting ergonomics; achieve near misses goal and close them on time. Develop a program to reduce scrap and the environmental footprint. Support training to develop technicians or operators as required. Support EHS Initiatives and Zero culture. Support the Danfoss Quality Systems as well as ISO 9001 and IATF16949, etc.

 

What We're Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field in Quality 5 years of prior experience in the same position or supervising operations professional personnel. Knowledge of quality techniques, including statistical methods used to analyze and control process variations. Knowledge and experience with AIAG Core Tools: SPC, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, CPK. Prior first-hand experience (2 yrs. minimum) dealing with customers on quality issues. Knowledgeable in applying Product/Process and Quality System Standards of International Certification, and Customer-specific Requirements. Using quality tools and structured methodologies. Solid knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF16949 Core Tools. Six Sigma methodologies (Green/Black belt is a plus). Bilingual (English/Spanish). Internal Auditor Certification is a plus Passport and Visa
