Sr Productivity Optimization Specialist

The Sr. Productivity Optimization Specialist will play a critical role in scaling operations and enhancing value delivery across customer sites. This position is part of Caterpillar’s Job Site Solutions (JSS) Productivity Optimization (PO) team, a dynamic group within Cat Solutions focused on delivering end-to-end productivity improvements for quarry and mining customers. **What you will do:** **Operational Analysis & Strategy:** Collaborate with Fleet Managers and customers to define production goals and key performance indicators (KPIs). Analyze machine and site data to identify inefficiencies and recommend actionable improvements, such as optimizing truck loading practices or adjusting fleet size to meet production targets. **Data-Driven Decision Making:** Use real-time and historical data to answer critical operational questions, such as: + Are machines being utilized to their full potential? + How many trucks should be deployed on a given route? + What proactive changes can be made to increase throughput and reduce waste? **Customer Value Creation:** Identify and quantify opportunities to increase customer value—whether through improved equipment utilization, reduced emissions, or enhanced site productivity. **Innovation & Tool Development:** Contribute to the development of new tools and visualizations that simplify data interpretation and empower customers to make informed decisions. Continuously evolve the solution offering to maintain JSS’s leadership in productivity optimization. **Training & Knowledge Sharing:** Train internal teams and partners on optimization methodologies, tools, and best practices. Own and maintain the productivity optimization playbook to ensure consistent, scalable execution across sites. **Additional Responsibilities:** + Evaluate and benchmark site performance using industry and JSS customer data. + Track the financial impact of implemented improvements. + Gather customer feedback and industry insights to inform service enhancements. + Assess competitive technologies and contribute to the continuous improvement backlog. **What skills you will have:** **Technical Excellence** : Extensive experience in **data analysis,** with a strong focus on **mining operations** . Proficient in using data visualization and reporting tools to drive operational insights. Industry experience in quarrying, aggregates, or mining is a significant asset. **Customer Focus** : Deep understanding of quarry or mining client needs and operational challenges. Skilled at developing customized, value-driven solutions that enhance productivity and safety. **Product & Service Knowledge** : Strong knowledge of mining equipment, technologies, and services. Proven ability to apply this expertise across diverse operational environments. Experienced in project management with a track record of delivering results in complex, high-stakes projects. **Decision Making & Critical Thinking** : Adept at analyzing operational data and site conditions to make informed, timely decisions that improve efficiency and reduce risk. **Effective Communication** : Clear and concise communicator with the ability to translate technical data into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. **Negotiation** : Skilled in negotiating with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to secure optimal outcomes in procurement, project execution, and service delivery. **Relationship Management** : Strong ability to build and maintain trust-based relationships with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Experienced in navigating matrixed organizations and leading through change. **Value-Based Selling** : Expertise in articulating the value of mining solutions and technologies. Able to differentiate offerings by aligning them with specific operational goals and challenges. **Top candidates will also have:** Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Engineering, Mining, Business or related degree. Machine product and application experience. Experience analyzing, visualization, and communicating complex information. Previous field experience in a dealer and customer-facing role. Understanding of optimized fleet performance and factors impacting cost/ton. Experience with SQL or similar databases. Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau. FPSim, VST or fleet performance modeling and simulation experience. **Additional Information:** This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Tucson, AZ, or Peoria, IL office. This position may require 25 % travel. Relocation is available. Sponsorship is not available. **Summary Pay Range:** $126,000.00 - $189,000.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
