Sr Product Manager - IA
Honeywell sees tremendous potential in the Indian market and is committed to accelerating its revenue in the region through an “East for East” (E4E) strategy—developing products for India, in India, to meet the unique needs of this rapidly growing market, with a longer- term roadmap to commercialize those offerings outside of India too. The E4E Sr. Manager for Product Innovation, IA will be at the forefront of this initiative, driving the ideation, development, and execution of India-focused offerings. This position will play a critical role in shaping Honeywell’s success in India by bridging market insights with Honeywell’s capabilities, developing a strong pipeline of New Product Introductions (NPIs), and enabling sustainable growth for the region. This role will act as an anchor to lead cross-functional collaboration between engineering, and sales teams. The role will report to E4E India leader and matrix to VPGM, India Industrial Automation Business. **Location:** Bengaluru or Pune **Travel/Territory:** India with travel 15-20% of the time **Ideal Candidate:** + Degrees- bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering + MBA + Domain expertise in Industrial Automation. + 10+ years of experience in: - Offering management with a focus on leading NPI initiatives, i.e., developing & marketing new offerings, preferably with industrial automation product/technology companies, **or** - Strategy consulting experience with previous background consisting of computer/ electronics/mechanical engg. + post undergrad job in technical domain + MBA, **or** - Experience at an early-stage industrial technology start-up with all-round exposure to product development, marketing, sales + Proficiency in conducting market research, market mapping with white space analysis, market sizing and building business case + Ability to: - Engage with key customers, industry, and ecosystem partners to understand market needs, and developing partnerships for co-innovation, co-development, and/or co-marketing - Run ideation workshops with customers technology/ commercial teams to build credible product roadmaps and delivering business growth - Collaborate cross-functionally in a matrix environment to drive business decisions and program execution + Behavioral attributes: - Strong customer focus and bias for market-backed thinking - Impact/results orientation - Ownership mindset - Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment - Ability to communicate effectively and influence cross-functional and cross-business teams, facilitate diverse groups, help negotiate priorities, and resolve conflict among stakeholders - Ability to travel 15-20% of the time domestically and/or internationally **Key Responsibilities:** The key deliverable for this role is to build/sustain an India-led offerings portfolio with a special focus on new offerings across the industrial automation businesses. Doing this successfully requires a techno-commercial mindset, the ability to identify sectors of opportunity, interface with customers at senior & executive levels, and translate critical market needs into new products & solutions. In this role, you will own delivery of current year annual operating plan for your portfolio as well as delivery of an NPI roadmap for the 3-year strategic planning period. **Map the market & Identify opportunities:** Identify and prioritize focus areas by understanding emerging market & technology trends, and customer needs, to recommend which growth opportunities must be picked up for development. **Drive & manage the idea pipeline:** Work jointly with engineering, sales, offer marketing teams and co-create with customers to ensure a healthy pipeline of NPI ideas to be converted into new products driving organic growth. Work closely with R&D and innovation teams to develop and test new product concepts. **Understand customer needs:** Build relationships that will help Honeywell grow its presence in the Indian market. Engage with top 3-5 potential customers/players to gather critical problem statements & needs and identify opportunities to differentiate with new Honeywell products & solutions. **Develop business cases:** For each new product/solution idea, size the market opportunity, define customer segmentation & willingness to pay value-based prices, and determine competitive landscape. Use data to assess business viability and create compelling, high-value business cases. **Define value propositions & product roadmaps:** Create offering roadmaps by defining minimum viable offerings by prioritizing customer needs and translating them into actionable product requirements that deliver quantifiable customer value. Lead the development of product roadmaps for NPI initiatives, outlining key milestones, features, and enhancements to be delivered over time. Prioritize initiatives based on market trends, customer needs, and business priorities. **Own the end-to-end offering portfolio:** Build & drive portfolio across the offering lifecycle from ideation to innovation and execution to commercialization/first revenue, owning the market success of new offerings. **Collaborate cross-functionally:** Engage with local and global stakeholders for business alignment, and with cross-functional teams at every stage of the development, execution & commercialization process. Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to drive NPI initiatives forward. This is a high-visibility role within the E4E team and will also involve managing pitches & reviews with senior leadership in India and globally. **Stakeholder Engagement** : Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, customers, partners, and industry influencers. Serve as the primary point of contact for NPI-related matters and ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged. **Performance Monitoring and Optimization** : Monitor key performance metrics for NPI initiatives, including revenue, market share, and customer satisfaction.
