Sr Product Intelligence Analyst

We are seeking a Sr. Competitive Intelligence Analyst to drive external insights that directly inform our product and engineering strategy. This role will serve as a dedicated expert in understanding Small-to-Medium sized businesses (SMBs), and how our top SaaS competitors are building, positioning, and delivering value across key product areas. You will work cross-functionally to ensure our roadmap is competitive, differentiated, and aligned with what small and mid-sized businesses expect in the market. This role requires someone who can go deep into product comparisons, is confident presenting analysis and recommendations, excels in a collaborative environment, and understands SMB needs and use cases. You will help Thryv stay ahead by identifying feature gaps, highlighting missed opportunities, and backing it all with structured data and clear insights.

Responsibilities

·       Owns competitive intelligence efforts for our top priority epics, as identified by Product leadership.

·       Constantly researches the newest tools, technologies, and trends within our space.  Partners with the SVP of Product to define competitive research needs by epic.

·       Analyzes direct and indirect competitor platforms to identify best-in-market features, differentiators, and customer experience approaches.

·       Provides objective insights into where Thryv is leading, matching, or falling behind in the market.  Works with Product Managers to validate roadmap assumptions using real-world competitor data.

·       Recommends new features, UX enhancements, integrations, or workflows based on competitor capabilities and trends.

·       Partners with Product Marketing on pricing, packaging, release cadences, and public feedback for key market competitors and to support go-to-market messaging with insights on how competitors are pitching similar capabilities.

·       Summarizes and delivers findings in a clear, actionable format (slide decks, briefs, spreadsheets, etc.) for use in executive and cross-functional discussions.

Who We’re Looking For

·       Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) or equivalent experience, required.

·       5+ years of related experience, required.

·       9+ years of related experience, preferred.

·       Ability to independently gather, analyze, and synthesize competitive intelligence across multiple SaaS products, identifying trends, feature gaps, and differentiation opportunities.

·       Understanding of how SaaS products are built and positioned.  Ability to evaluate technical capabilities, user experience, and feature value with a critical and product-oriented mindset.

·       Effectively communicates insights, recommendations, and risks to Product, Engineering, and senior stakeholders.  Skilled at framing information in a way that supports decision-making.

·       Ability to collaborate well with Product Managers, Engineers, and Executives without direct authority.  Experience building trust through credibility, clarity, and follow-through.

·       Demonstrates critical thinking and prioritization skills with the ability to go in-depth, when needed.  Experience filtering noise, focusing on high-impact insights, and aligning research efforts with top product priorities.

·       Ability to travel less than 5% of the time.

·       Must be 18 years of age or older.

·       Must successfully complete pre-employment screening process, as required.

·       Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses, as needed.
