**Sr Proc Ctrl Eng** **YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES** You will provide both tactical and strategic direction to plant, technical expert, mostly internal networks, provides informal leadership to team, significant portion of time spent on continuous improvement. Additionally, you will ensure the safe, efficient, productive, and environmentally sound manufacture of active ingredients or intermediates. The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Process Control Engineer, are to: + Contribute and support final decisions and recommendations to protect the site’s and Bayer’s freedom to operate, improve efficiency and increase yields; + Work on complex engineering problems that have a moderate to high value to the site and business; + Work across plants within the site to develop standardized and maintainable solutions for the site; + Research and implement best practices and introduce new technology solutions to improve efficiency and performance at the plant and site level; + Serve as site expert on ISA (Instrumentation Society of America), IEC (International Electromechanical Commission), and Bayer process control and cybersecurity standards and train others on their application; + Function as the subject matter expert of site configuration practices and provide technical support including deployment of new technologies, problem solving, specification reviews and third-party integrator audits; + Lead investigations into process safety or production related control system failures; + Drive the development and utilization of process control, Safety Instrumented Systems and cybersecurity strategies per IEC & ISA guidelines and Bayer standards; + Provide technical expertise in developing and maintaining process control and operating procedures, specifications, and auditing procedures to optimize overall effectiveness as it relates to industry recommended practices and OSHA PSM (Process Safety Metrics) Guidelines. **WHO YOU ARE** Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications: + B.S. Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; + Engineering experience in a plant operation function; + Experience with Emerson DeltaV and AMS; + Emerson Process Control Implementation II Course or Equivalent; + Strong communications skills, both oral and written; + Strong decision making and problem-solving skills; + Computer expertise in Windows based software; + Ability to interact with multi-functional teams; + Strong safety ethic and mindset; + Proficient computer skills to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint, SAP experience helpful; + High level of ownership and is able quickly adapt to changing priorities; + Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures immediately and communicate status to engineers and production; + Ability to support and prioritize many diverse activities simultaneously while meeting schedule commitments; + Strong planning, organizational skills along with good oral and written communication skills; + Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with a diverse wide customer base; + Flexibility to support business requirement of on-call support and / or weekend coverage. Preferred Qualifications: + 7+ years or an equivalent combination of education and experience; + Technical expertise in process controls, IEC, and ISA guidelines; + Experience in maintaining control systems; + Knowledge of SAP, Siemens Simatic IT, Virtualization, Aspen Tech IP21; + Knowledge of industrial networking; + Experience with FAT, SAT, Commissioning and Qualification, including hands-on experience starting-up and running new equipment, resolving technical equipment issues, developing turn-over packages. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
