Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Senior Principal Engineer Systems Architect – 15826. This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama.
WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:
• Analyzing overarching needs by using a structured and logical approach.
• The candidate will be responsible for developing system architecture solutions and concepts for various new and emerging capabilities of a weapon system.
• Communicates and collaborates on system architecture solutions with various teams, including software developers, network engineers, cyber engineers, DevSecOps, infrastructure, test, and deployment teams.
• This encompasses both physical and logical architecture throughout the System.
• The candidate will collaborate with project leads, product owners, and the Navy customer.
• The candidate will present architectural concepts to a diverse range of audiences and serve as the focal point for System Architecture, supporting development, testing, and deployment efforts.
• The candidate will present internal and external design reviews.
• Candidates may help document or review architecture using an MBSE tool like CAMEO.
• Familiarity with DoD cyber requirements, RMF, and related solutions.
• Familiarity with software development and Java-based solutions.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps and Digital Engineering Transformation (DET) methodologies and solutions.
• Familiarity with Agile development.
• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and the Cameo tool.
• Familiarity with requirements management tools, e.g., DOORS
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• • 08 Years with Bachelor’s in related field of study, 06 Years with Masters, 04 Years with PhD or 04 additional years in lieu of a degree.
• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance
• Must possess Systems Engineering, Architecture, and/or Test experience on a DoD program.
• Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of presenting technical concepts to a diverse group of engineers.
• Experience in collaborating within an integrated team of systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions.
• Experience in identifying desired capabilities, defining those capabilities, communicating them to a diverse group of developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users, and generating architectural artifacts to document and manage the achievement of the desired capabilities.
• Experience in developing systems engineering and architecture artifacts (e.g., Specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, etc.)
• Experience as a technical leader in a DoD Systems Engineering or Development project
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in nuclear, electrical, or software engineering
• A Master's degree in a related STEM field is highly preferred.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Experience with electrical analysis/test and verification of requirements.
• Experience working with Software Requirements and developing Software Architecture.
• Experience and working knowledge of Navy programs.
