We are looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineer based in Northern California, Sacramento (McClellan Park). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirements management, verification, and verification cross-reference matrix development using DOORS (IBM Rational DOORS). You will be responsible for ensuring that all system requirements are properly defined, aligned, and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Conduct comprehensive reviews of government specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.Allocate specifications to various system components, ensuring each component meets the required standards and performance criteria.Develop and maintain detailed system trees, decomposing systems into manageable components and sub-components.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all specifications and allocations are clearly understood and integrated into the project plan.Utilize IBM Rational DOORS for managing and tracing specifications, ensuring traceability from high-level requirements to detailed system components.Participate in requirements verification and validation activities to ensure all government specifications are met.Develop and maintain Verification Cross Reference Matrices to ensure traceability between requirements and verification activities.Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of specification reviews, allocation processes, system tree decomposition, and verification activities.Provide training and support to team members on government specification requirements, system decomposition, verification processes, and cross-reference matrix development best practices.Ensure all systems engineering practices comply with regulatory and company standards, including any updates or changes in government specifications.Basic Qualifications:
STEM degree -- 8 Years with Bachelors; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD5 years of experience in systems engineering or a related role, with a focus on requirements definition and management.Must be a US citizen and have the capability to receive and hold a Secret clearancePreferred Qualifications:
Strong experience with IBM Rational DOORS for requirements management.Proven ability to define and allocate requirements in complex systems.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.Familiarity with systems engineering standards and practices (e.g., INCOSE, IEEE).Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
