How will you make an impact:
Work closely with the Packaging Supervisor(s) to ensure the daily packaging schedule is supported from a maintenance perspective as well as facilitating improvements and ensures the efficient operation and maintenance of packaging equipment.
Shift schedule: 12 hours Night shift from 7 PM - 7 AM
What will you do?
Coordinate line set-ups and changeovers using Set-Up Work Instructions. Ensure lines are operating to meet production schedule and targets.
Responsible for ensuring that all equipment is maintained in accordance with the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program and tracking down-time of equipment.
Maintain an inventory of maintenance, repair and operating supply parts for the packaging department. Monitors expenditures.Train and develop other mechanics to satisfy the maintenance requirements.
Work closely with equipment vendors, clients and internal departments to resolve all packaging machinery/line issues in a professional and timely manner.
Own the technical expert/lead role in the generation of packaging trials and protocols and coordination of process improvement projects.
Participate in meetings regarding packaging equipment.
Assist in investigation of Deviation Reports (DR).
Provide assistance during client meetings and/or audits (as required).
Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards.
Perform alternating or rotating shift work.
How will you get here:
Education:
College Diploma or Certificate from a Trade School
Experience:
Minimum 7 years’ experience in maintenance related activities within a pharmaceutical packaging environment.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in dealing with liquid/tube/tablet/powder fillers, labelers, cartoners and overwrappers would be an asset
Equivalency:
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Millwright and/or Electrical License would be an asset. Strong mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting abilities. Sound knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations. Technical ability to coordinate departmental maintenance activities. Good working knowledge of electronics or pneumatics is desirable. Technical ability to coach and develop staff using a hands-on approach. Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Proficiency in the English language.
