The primary purpose of this role is to direct teams responsible for the accounting operations associated with the Company’s Inventory and Shrink results. This is accomplished by providing critical input and insights to the Company’s Inventory Flow strategies. This role leads a team responsible for accurately processing and reviewing financial activities to enable accurate reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. This includes responsibility for leading others to conduct effective research, managing, tracking, reporting, and reviewing work for financial activities to ensure accounting records are correct. In addition, this role leads to support the execution and design of internal controls over financial and regulatory reporting, by working independently to apply and provide experienced accounting judgment and knowledge of GAAP. The Senior Manager will identify, lead and partner on opportunities with the business and other finance functions to lead, drive and manage efforts to improve both internal finance and cross-functional capabilities. In addition, the Senior Manager will fully understand and articulate both bi-directionally within the team as well as through senior leadership regarding their area of responsibility.
What you will do
Responsible for Inventory Shrink Accounting financial activities of the team that require the application of advanced knowledge of moderate to highly complex inventory flow systems, business processes and GAAP principles to business scenarios.Ensure the team prepares, evaluates and reviews operational and financial information to ensure accuracy of financial reporting.Perform and review analyses from the team (i.e. historical, forecasting, impact, etc) and reconciliations to support monthly, quarterly and annual closing cycles as prescribed by regulatory and compliance entities.Review reports, analyses and reconciliations performed by their team to ensure accuracy of financial reporting and analysis.Lead team and at times research financial activities to identify complex issues, while working across the team and stakeholders to determine resolution.Lead projects/initiatives and participate in cross-functional teams to deliver business value, while balancing accounting responsibilities and controls.Communicate effectively within the team, cross-functionally with senior leaders and with external parties to resolve audit questions and issues.Build strong Partnerships with the team and other key business stakeholders in order to improve inventory flow processes to remove friction for the organization.Lead, train, and coach the team in the development of accounting, analytical and business partnership skills.Work with external (regulatory and third party) and independent auditors to resolve complex issues.Ensure team financial controls are consistently executed, leads testing around key SOX controls to provide documentation and support for SOX compliance for their respective area and escalates inventory flow control deficiencies identified across the business to business stakeholders and internal audit.Responsible for selecting, hiring, and developing talent to ensure a productive and engaged workforce.Lead effective teams and lead through others to hire, coach, train and develop to ensure a talented, productive, and engaged workforce.Create and lead others to ensure an inclusive environment across the organization to foster diverse ideas and perspectives.
Required Qualifications
Preferred Skills/Education
• Master's Degree MBA, or degree in related area or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated, progressive Lowe's accounting or finance experience and cross-functional leadership
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) CPA or CPA Candidate
