3.1 Position Overview: The main purpose of the Senior Engineer – Mechanical Design is to lead the
mechanical development of new products. The essential duties and responsibilities for this position
include ensuring products being developed meet customer requirements as well as cost, quality, and schedule targets through collaboration with a global team. This role may also include responsibility for coaching and training project team members to increase their technical capability.

3.3 Educational Requirements:
**Minimum Degree Required:** Bachelor of Science1
**Degree Area:** Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics
1In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, four years of relevant engineering experience plus demonstrated mastery of the following topics will qualify: Mechanics of materials, electrical AC and DC circuits, machine dynamics, engineering design, fluid dynamics, and applied thermodynamics.
3.4 Senior Engineer - Mechanical Design, Level I:

**Reports To:** Engineering Leader, Chief Engineer, or Director
**Supervises:** None **Primary Language:** Spanish
**Secondary Language:** English TOEFL > 550
**Experience:** Six (6) years
**Position Requirements:**
**Skills Required:**
· Ability to describe and present new product ideas & concepts to others
· Ability to lead engineering efforts for technology development or NPD projects
· Ability to provide new product and major cost reduction ideas
· Extensive knowledge in products, manufacturing processes, and agency testing requirements
· Experience leading product safety discussions and following up through to issue resolution
· Proven track record in submitting intellectual property (IP)
**Major Job Responsibilities:**
· Communicate thoroughly and timely with others (local or global) on the NPD team
· Communicate with customers directly, with understanding of our communication policies and IP
control.
· Coordinate and ensure successful internal transfer of knowledge / technology to others
· Coordinate resources to complete project objectives
**Onsite Work Arrangement:**
This role is based fully onsite, and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.
