As the Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking - Connected Commerce/Proprietary Wallets, you will take on a leadership role by offering technical coaching and advisory to multiple technical teams. Additionally, you will anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm.
Job responsibilities
Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasksRegularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendorsTakes accountability for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and proceduresEnsures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholdersDevelops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersActively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firm wide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life CycleProvides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertiseExperience leading teams of technologistsAbility to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiativesExperience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversightProficiency in Java/J2EE and REST APIs, Web Services and experience in building event-driven Micro Services and Kafka streaming.Experience in Spring Framework, Spring Boot and AWS Services in public cloud infrastructureSolid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and SecurityWorking proficiency in developmental toolsets like GIT/BitBucket, JIRA, Maven.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Finance domain experience with United States Banking & Payments industry. Experience working at code level (preferred)Knowledge and working experience on Card Network Payment, Fraud, Settlement.People management experience of handling one or more scrum teams.Delivery management experience of Java Micro services application on AWS/Public cloud platform.Certifications in Java programming or related technologies (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Spring Certification) is a plus. Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate) is a plus
