Job DescriptionU.S. Bank is seeking a Senior Computer Systems Group Manager with configuration management and critical situation management experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. Manages the team that designs, develops, tests, debugs, and implements computer system components, tools, and utilities required for the operation, maintenance, and control of systems. Executes computer system configuration management, vendor management, problem mitigation, change management, and critical situation management to mission-critical systems. Conducts assessments of risk, cost, and return on investment scenarios and impact; as well as potential compatibility issues with existing hardware/software. Identifies and defines new system technologies to fit specialized business needs and configurations. Creates and executes a technology plan for the system product. Provides consultation and technical solutions to management on complex systems integration, compatibility, expandability, ease of use, and multiple platform issues. Manages staff of up to 100 employees. Recommends: hires, transfers, terminations, salary adjustments, performance standards, and reviews. Plans, develops, and controls moderate to large project/product budgets.
What you will do
Leadership & Strategy
Lead and grow a team of infrastructure/platform engineers focused on API management and delivery.
Define and execute the roadmap for Apigee and GraphQL infrastructure platforms in alignment with enterprise architecture and business goals.
Evangelize best practices in API design, security, versioning, and developer experience.
Platform Ownership
Manage the full lifecycle of the Apigee API Gateway platform, including configuration, upgrades, scaling, and monitoring.
Oversee GraphQL service federation and schema governance across teams and microservices.
Build and maintain automated tooling and CI/CD pipelines for deploying APIs to production environments.
Collaboration & Enablement
Partner with application teams, security, and DevOps to streamline API onboarding and adoption.
Provide internal consulting and support for teams integrating with Apigee and/or building GraphQL APIs.
Facilitate internal developer experience improvements such as documentation, self-service tools, and observability enhancements.
Governance & Compliance
Implement and enforce API standards including authentication (OAuth 2.0, JWT), throttling, analytics, and lifecycle management.
Collaborate with InfoSec and Risk teams to meet regulatory, compliance, and threat mitigation requirements.
Ensure high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery strategies for API services.
Basic Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
-At least 8 years experience with management approaches, tools, and techniques for gaining the cooperation and support of others.
-At least 5 years experience with utilizing, configuring, and installing software for connecting distributed -software and services across heterogeneous platforms.
-At least 10 years experience within a total Information Technology (IT) environment.
Preferred Skills/Experience
Extensive experience in:
-Product and vendor evaluation
-System and technical integration
Subject matter expert in:
-Middleware
-IT standards, procedures, policy
-IT environment
Location Expectations
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $133,365.00 - $156,900.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
