Can you facilitate projects and implement policies, procedures, and training to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for employees at our San Diego facilities (Vista) and three facilities in TJ, Mexico? As Sr. Manager, EHS, you will lead the global EHS function, designing, developing, and deploying EHS strategies that will enable success and keep us compliant with local, state, and federal safety guidelines. We’ll rely on you to drive ongoing safety continuous improvement across our various facilities, the execution of EHS programs, and the support and development of enterprise-wide training, audits, emergency responsiveness, and assessments.

The right candidate is comfortable working in gray areas and can expertly manage the balance between the details and the big picture, knowing when to stay high and when to investigate. You will ask the right questions to define problems, close gaps, and address areas of opportunity as it relates to leading the investigation of accidents, injuries, and safety-related incidents.Can you deliver data excellence? You will lead the rollup of RIR and near-miss data, supervising data accuracy and excellence. You will monitor and update the EHS database as necessary, responding to the needs of our various manufacturing plants and modifying the database to support program measurement.Can you see around the corner? Leaning on your extensive experience and knowledge, you will partner with internal teams to understand what we are currently doing well and where areas of opportunities may be, then will constructively challenge and re-prioritize our EHS deliverables to meet current and future business needs.Are you an EHS compliance expert? This position oversees both California and Tijuana-based plants; proficiency in both U.S. and Mexico health and safety laws and regulations is required. Can you facilitate a robust safety training program? Your team will own safety training at our facilities, requiring you to support the preparation, scheduling, and delivery of training on emergency procedures, workplace safety, standard processes, and other topics. We’ll look to you to determine root causes and work with your team to implement and track corrective actions, participate in new machinery/equipment/process reviews, lead safety-related events, and perform safety analyses and operator training.Are you versed in driving sustainability initiatives? You will seek to understand emissions data and energy use across our worksites and will drive and track savings through EHS sustainability initiatives. We’ll rely on you to review site energy audits, establish an audit cadence, and complete audit results, all while building a culture of decarbonization.Do you have a continuous improvement approach? You will support project leaders in applying continuous improvement tools when driving safety improvement projects and Kaizens.WHAT YOU BRING

Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish required, including ability to write and speak effectively in both languages. Ability and willingness to travel on a weekly basis to our facilities in Vista, CA and Tijuana, MX, as well as occasionally to our parent company, Masco’s facilities in MI.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in environmental safety, occupational safety and health or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. 5 years’ related experience, ideally in a high-volume manufacturing environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Wastewater experience is a significant plus.Ability to collaborate with co-workers, internal departments, service providers, and customers in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking, seeking expertise and advice from Masco, HUB, FM Global, etc. when deemed necessary.Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact, present to, and influence a group of co-workers, supervisors, managers, or higher-level executives.Ability to work well both independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, owner’s operating manuals, service procedure manuals, etc.Ability to break long term objectives into components that can be individually measured (key performance metrics, incident rates, etc.)Exhibits our Watkins Way values and understands the culture of our organization.Proficient in MS Office Suite.ERP system experience a plus.CPR/First Aid/AED certified a plus.WHAT YOU’LL GET

Hiring Range: $111,300.00 - $174,900.00.
