Job Description

Summary

Role responsible for managing commercial processes and controls, ensuring collaboration between business units, and managing the Commercial Trade Analysts on commercial goals and processes. Responsible for ensuring all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

Essential Functions

Ensure, on behalf of heads of commercial trading, all trader mandates required by PFJ Energy’s Commodity Risk Management (CRM) policy are being complied with daily. This includes all positions, new trades, and accurate P&L reporting.Select, coach, train, develop and lead direct reports to include appraising job performance, conducting performance reviews and providing strategic direction and set priorities for Trade Analyst team.Identify opportunities by developing strategic and tactical resolutions and delivering measurable results to drive synergies across different stakeholders including Commercial, Operations, Inventory Control, Contracts, Settlements, Technology & Senior Management.Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure SOX compliance across the commercial organizationResponsible for new business onboarding and coordination; this would include aiding in the definition of project scope and goals, providing metrics to senior leadership associated with the progress of a given project, and communication with Management to keep the project aligned with business goals.Provide commercial modeling for the onboarding of new businessesResponsible for management reporting including weekly memorandums, monthly business review, actual-to-budget analysis, and actual-to-forecast analysisAid in creation and communication of annual commercial budget and analyze validity of commercial assumptions around budgeted goalsEnsure all activities in Commercial Trading are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.Responsible for confirming accurate P&L reporting for daily, monthly, YTD result being distributed by Middle OfficeDevelop and enhance new reporting tools, key performance indicators and control functions for both the Commercial and the Trade Analyst teams.Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level.Provide ad hoc reporting as requested and complete other duties, as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or related field requiredMBA preferred or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum seven years industry experience requiredMinimum five years of leadership experience requiredRightAngle expert level Preferred 

Specialized Knowledge

Knowledge of physical and financial Energy Commodity TradingComprehension of hedging requirements and needs for trading desks in various US marketsUnderstanding of cash and futures marketsAbility to troubleshoot complex issues across the life cycle of tradesMinimum five years of experience working with front, middle, and back-office business and operational processes requiredExperience with process improvements and analytics requiredIntermediate Microsoft Office skills
