Sr Manager, Assortment Analytics

Job Description
This role sits at the intersection of analytics and project management, supporting high-impact assortment initiatives across the merchandising and retail operations of a large global retailer. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead assortment analytics projects, especially during high-volume business request periods.
Act as a liaison between analytics and business teams—developing presentations and delivering insights to stakeholders.
Analyze large datasets to identify trends, productivity opportunities, and space optimization strategies.
Recommend shop sizes and flex space adjustments across store groups.
Support reporting and performance tracking aligned with merchandising goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Merchandising, and Finance.

Skills and Requirements
Strong analytical mindset with experience in retail or merchandising preferred.
Intermediate Excel proficiency:
SUMIFS, VLOOKUPs, nested functions.
Power BI and data visualization experience.
Hands-on experience with SQL for data extraction.
Familiarity with Dataiku and Alteryx for data preparation and automation.
Ability to build a narrative from data and present findings clearly. Experience in merchandising or retail.
