What is the opportunity?
Support the Director in ensuring that the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance program for Wealth Management Canada, Global Asset Management (Canada) and Canadian Private Banking are aligned with the Global AML strategy and consistent with the relevant regulations. Act as subject matter expert/key contact for the provision of AML Compliance direction, advice and requirements to the covered businesses in respect of their AML, Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF), Economic Sanctions (ES) and Anti-Bribery Anti-Corruption (ABAC) responsibilities / issues / projects / initiatives.
What will you do?
Act as point of contact in providing guidance to the covered businesses in respect to their AML, ATF, ES, and ABAC responsibilities / issues / requirements. Liaise with AML FIU, Global Economic Sanctions, Corporate Investigation Services (CIS), Business Operations, and Business Compliance where applicable.Keep abreast of regulatory changes, interpret potential impact and identify changes required for the covered businesses; liaise with business partners with regard to the implementation of the changes.Consistently look for opportunities to create streamlined and efficient AML compliance policies and processes (achieving regulatory compliance without unnecessary impact to business and clients).Assist in drafting / revising policies and procedures relating to AML / ATF as needed for specific business units and client segments; work with, and provide oversight of, businesses in the operationalization of policies as they impact the covered businesses.Assist in providing oversight of covered business units to ensure compliance with AML / ATF regulatory requirements.Directly participate as the AML Compliance representative, providing direction, requirements, and support as a participant and partner, in various AML projects that impact these businesses.Assist in conducting AML/ATF, ES, and ABAC risk assessments, in partnership with the covered businesses, and ensure action plans are developed to address identified gaps/risks, as required.What do you need to succeed?
Must-Have:
University degree or equivalent experience of at least 7 yearsDemonstrated strong analytical skills, problem solving and attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsGood conflict management, negotiation and influencing skillsStrong understanding of the Wealth Management Canada / Canadian Private Banking businessesAbility to effectively manage competing priorities and escalate as requiredNice to Have:
