Sr Integration Engineer - Charging

As a **Sr Charging Integration Engineer,** you can be a part of that journey with us by providing world-class product development of innovative solutions such **Stationary and Dynamic Energy Transfer** charging solutions. These charging solutions are Caterpillar-developed systems that transfer energy to battery-electric and diesel-electric large mining trucks while they are working around a mine site. These systems improve operational efficiency and machine uptime. The innovative systems provide the industry with options to support both near-term and long-term sustainability strategies. You will have a pivotal role working with Caterpillar team members in a critical and fast-paced product development function to deliver solutions that make our customers successful with sustainable site solutions. **Sr Charging Integration Engineer** will be responsible for communicating interface and performance requirements and timelines to the design teams to ensure system designs are completed in time to meet the program timelines, as well as performing detailed design work on both electrical and mechanical systems integration to mine sites. This role is part of a high-paced, high-performing team working to mature production-ready designs at a system level. **What you will do:** + Design, develop, and integrate stationary charging systems for electric machines. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration onto customer sites. + Coordinate system-level testing and validation planning to ensure performance, reliability, and safety standards are met. + Troubleshoot and resolve usability and customer integration issues related to charging systems. + Manage technical documentation, including design requirements/specifications, test plans, and user manuals. + Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in charging technology. + Provide technical support and training to internal teams and customers. **Degree Requirement:** Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or a related field. **What skills you will have:** **Systems Thinking** : **Product and system design and development experience** , understanding of **high-power product installations** . Knowledge of the critical interdependencies among individual system elements that help and hinder performance • Monitors systems after interventions to confirm success and to diagnose new or remaining problems. • Analyzes the dynamics of a system to determine key characteristics, properties, and functions. • Surfaces problems within systems and searches for root causes. **Planning** : Knowledge of effective planning techniques in support of the overall business plan. • Monitors progress of work against plan as required to meet objectives. • Reports variances and makes agreed-upon corrections. • Under guidance, develops tactical plan for own direct responsibility. **Analytical Thinking** : Ability to determine the root cause of problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. • Organizes and prioritizes the sequence of steps to be taken to remedy the situation. • Identifies many possible causes for a problem based on prior experience and current research. • Quantifies the costs, benefits, risks and chances for success before recommending a course of action. • Approaches a complex problem by breaking it down into its component parts. **Effective Communications** : Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. • Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work. • Avoids technical jargon when inappropriate. **Problem Solving** : Ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. • Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives. • Examines a specific problem and understands the perspective of each involved stakeholder. • Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution. • Uses fact-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems. **Top Candidates will also have:** + Knowledge of the NPI and TRL (Technology Readiness Level) processes + Strong knowledge of power electronics and software integration. + Familiarity with regulatory standards and safety requirements for EV charging systems. + Proven knowledge in the development and integration of systems, preferably in the heavy equipment or EV charging industry. + Knowledge of system-level testing and validation. + Passion for sustainable technology and electric mobility. + Proficiency in Creo **Additional Information:** This position requires the candidate **to work full-time in the Mossville, IL office.** Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position. This position will require up to 25 % travel. **Summary Pay Range:** $110,520.00 - $165,840.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
