The Opportunity

This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in GES Global Engineering Services division.

The Senior Head Cashier and Point of Sale subject matter expert responsible for this position will serve as the centralized expert for the new Point of Sale system and related business functions. This role plays a key part in supporting evolving service models such as self-check-out kiosks, mobile app ordering/pickup, and extended-hour grab to go operations and off-site meal/snack vending operations.  In addition to these core responsibilities, you will be overseeing all aspects of cash handling operations, including balancing the safe, fulfilling change requests, and operating the register.

What You’ll Work On

Vendor invoice trackingCollaborate with the culinary team to program daily specials into the POS system.Update the digital menu accordingly.Process transactions accurately at the register, ensuring excellent customer service.Balance safe funds and prepare daily deposits.Fulfill change requests for cashier team and maintain adequate cash levels.Train and support cashier staff in proper cash handling procedures.Act as subject matter expert for all POS-related systems and technologies.Manage product availability and updates in the POS system.Oversee mobile app programing for food ordering and pickup.Serve as technical and customer service liaison for POS related issues.Support the setup and maintenance of new customer accounts.Oversee receipt and label printing needs for POS transactions.Analyze sales data and provide reports to management as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Prior experience in a cashier role.Strong technical aptitude for POS systems and related software.Exceptional customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to analyze data and identify trends or operational needs.Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.Comfortable training others on POS technology and processes.Education Level: High School diploma or GED.Demonstrate the ability to be adaptable, friendly, and willing to collaborate effectively with the team.Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and online vendor portals.Have basic English reading and writing skills.Aid in other areas of the operation when needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years in a similar POS support role   Experience with mobile POS and cloud-based systems.
